The violinist Kim Sjøgren 's with a handicap of about 10 quite capable golfer. He has had many interesting experiences on golf courses abroad.
First violinist Kim Sjøgren played golf was in the U.S. where an acquaintance took him out and play in Twin Peaks Golf Club in Washington State .
It was right after David Lynch's television series of the same name had put the Danish streets deserted , and although by his own admission so completely wrong on a golf course , he was still somewhat interested in the game .
Some years later he was on track , and now he is a very dedicated and enthusiastic golfer with a handicap around 10
"When I drive around in Denmark and Sweden as well as acting , I always have my golf clubs with me and typically seek to have time to play a round , but when I travel abroad , I bring with me usually either the violin or the golf clubs ," says the 52 -year-old virtuoso , who is so fond of the game of golf that he some years ago made a CD with golf numbers.
Fantastic in Mauritius
"In January I was for the second time in Mauritius and played on the brand new and amazing Ernie Els court, and on the runway as Bernhard Langer has designed the Ile de Cerf . The course is ranked as one of the 10 most difficult in the world , but I do not actually , it is very difficult , even though there is plenty of water in play. It is a fantastic place , the field is incredible, and there's hot. "Says Kim Sjøgren , who also holds much of Portugal.
"My wife is Portuguese , so I'm in Portugal a few times a year and play golf every time I'm there. She comes from Estoril , so it's the tracks so I'm playing . Courts as Penha Longa, Quinta da Marinha and Oitavos . I made my so far the only hole in one at Quinta da Marinha, and the day after I played the track again , this time with Peter Schmeichel . When we got to the hole , I told that I of course knew exactly how it should be played . Beat a 7- iron and was 40 cm from repeating the feat ! "
Currently working Kim Sjøgren on a CD with Irish folk music , and during the recording sessions taking place in Ireland , he visited the green island many times over the past four years and he has of course played on many of Ireland's best courses .
"Before I visited Ireland for the first time , I had never played links golf before. Now I absolutely love it . For me, the very essence of golf, and the Irish links courses beats everything I 've tried , "he said.
" Links golf is difficult, but fascinating , and I like very much the nature experience you get on the lanes . The only drawback is that you never really can trust the weather over there, " says Kim Sjøgren , a member of Silkeborg Golf Club, and until the start of this season also played in Hørsholm , Copenhagen.
